first time

is it still considered hitchhiking if you pick somebody up who only needs to go about 6-8 blocks on the same street of which you reside?

as i was warming up the vehicle in my driveway, a woman, close to my age, approached me with an anomalous story about needing a ride up to almaden and 8th. never, never have i picked up a hitchhiker.

taking a chance i told her "yeah get on in."

nothing happened except a lot of conversation on her part about her journey...and all i could do was laugh out loud and say "what the hell was that randomness?!"
